![]() ![]() This lens has a double character: when used in TA, although it does not lack resolution capability in the strict sense, it produces significantly "skinned" and reduced contrast images but this feature can be remarkably appreciated under certain circumstances, but already closing the diaphragm at f2. Opinion: It was my first vintage optics too because you can find immaculate specimens at a few tens of euros, currently using it on a Sony A6000 (dense APS-C sensor) with dumb adapter making it a good mid-canvas for capable portraits to produce nice images especially for the best color rendering. If fungus eats the center of the lens i'll get another used one (w/o fungus if it's possible :) and i'll keep the other one as a 50 mm soft focus :)).Pros: Good clarity from f2.8 which is great at f5.6, very nice color rendition, great construction quality, lightweight and compact, low prices also for specimens in excellent condition.Ĭons: Low flare resistance, longitudinal chromatic aberrations evident in strong contrast areas especially at TA and f2.8, it would be interesting to have an intermediate shot between f1.7 and f2.8 for the diaphragm ring. Last, a tiny lens is very useful if you don't like to attract eyes of people to your camera like insects to an UV light.Īlso, the fungus is only at the borders, meaning it would only show using 1.7 or 2.8 apertures, that i rarely use. ![]() I became really astonished when i used the lens in combination with Fuji Reala, viewing results from the zoom, the 50 and the 135 (which i like a lot too), i really think the zoom has no much future with me. If you don't shoot a lot in dark light conditions i think you shouldn't pay 3 times the money for the 50 1.4, wich is heavier and bigger also. This lens is so light, cheap and sharp that i rarely use the zoom anymore. At the store i got impressed by the suddenly clear viewfinder and how tiny and easy to focus the lens was (i was so impressed that i forgot to look for fungus, but well, i won't forgot it anymore :P).īTW, it has converted in the new "body cap" for my x370. I was feeling really uncomfortable using and focusing with the noname 28-70 (big, heavy, dark viewfinder, not easy to focus with precission), and after reading the advantadges of a 50 mm lens, i searched for it and finally bought it. ![]()
